These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and One Step Ahead LLC, doing business as OSA Defensive Training (“OSA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your use of osadefensivetraining.com (the “Site”), the OSA Shield membership, and our training services. By using the Site, joining OSA Shield, or attending a class, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Who We Are

OSA Defensive Training is operated by One Step Ahead LLC. You can reach us at support@osadefensivetraining.com.

Eligibility

To purchase a membership or training, you must be at least 18 years old, able to enter a binding contract, and legally permitted to purchase, possess, and handle firearms under all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Certain services, including concealed carry courses, carry additional age and legal requirements. You are responsible for knowing and meeting the requirements that apply to you.

OSA Shield Membership and Billing

Recurring subscription. OSA Shield is a paid membership that renews automatically. When you join, you authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis — monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select — until you cancel. Current pricing starts at $49.99 per month and is shown on the Site at the time you join.

Renewals. Your membership renews automatically at the then-current rate for your plan at the start of each billing period, using the payment method on file, unless you cancel before the renewal date. If a payment fails, we may retry it before treating the membership as lapsed.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account. When you cancel, your membership — and the USCCA membership included with it — remains active through the end of the period you have already paid for, and does not renew after that. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods except as described below.

Price changes. We may change membership prices. If we do, we will give you advance notice, and any change will take effect at your next renewal. Members who joined at a grandfathered rate keep that rate as described at the time they joined, for as long as their membership remains continuously active.

Spouse plans. If you purchase a two-person plan, you are responsible for the accuracy of the spouse information you provide and for that person’s agreement to be enrolled. Both memberships are managed under your account and billed together.

The USCCA Elite Benefit

OSA is an Official Partner of the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA). Each OSA Shield tier includes a USCCA Elite membership, which we enroll on your behalf. The USCCA membership, its benefits, its self-defense liability insurance, and all coverage and eligibility decisions are provided and determined solely by the USCCA and its affiliates, not by OSA. Your USCCA membership is subject to the USCCA’s own membership terms, and any protection or benefit is governed by those terms and the applicable insurance policy. OSA does not provide insurance, legal representation, or any guarantee of coverage or outcome, and makes no representation about whether any particular incident will be covered. Enrollment is processed after you join and is not always instantaneous.

Training Services and Assumption of Risk

Firearms training involves the use of real firearms and inherently dangerous activity that carries risk of serious injury or death. By registering for or attending any OSA class, range day, or event, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept these risks. You agree to follow all safety rules and instructor directions at all times. You may be required to sign a separate liability waiver and release before participating in any in-person training; that waiver applies in addition to these Terms. Class and range-day registration may be handled through the USCCA’s platform and is subject to its terms as well.

Our training is educational. It is not legal advice, and completing a course does not guarantee any particular legal result, certification, permit approval, or outcome in a self-defense situation.

Refunds

Membership fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has begun, except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@osadefensivetraining.com and we will work with you in good faith. Refund and cancellation terms for individual classes, if any, are stated at the time of registration.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Site or our services, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, disrupting the Site, using it for any unlawful purpose, or sharing membership access with anyone other than the people covered by your plan.

Intellectual Property

The Site and its content — including the OSA name, logo, text, images, and course materials — are owned by One Step Ahead LLC or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our written permission.

Disclaimers

The Site and our services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms limits any warranty or right that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Step Ahead LLC and its owners, employees, and instructors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of the Site, your membership, your USCCA membership, or your participation in training. Our total liability for any claim relating to our services will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless One Step Ahead LLC and its owners, employees, and instructors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or our services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Trumbull County, Ohio, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site or your membership after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
